Visit this hikers and climbers paradise of Peru to the North-East of Lima. Huaraz (3100 m.), the capital of Ancash Province, is a lovely town surrounded by snowcapped mountains. With its good tourist infrastructure it is an ideal place for acclimatization and also starting point of countless treks to Cordillera Blanca (the White Mountain Range) and the Huayhuash Mountain Range. Both Mountain Ranges can give the view of several peaks above 6000 meters (including the highest peak of Peru -Huascaran with 6768 meters) with their hidden lagoons and glaciers.


Day 1: Bus journey from Lima to Huaraz.(8-9 hours).


Day 2-3:Acclimatization in and around Huaraz:
-Day trek to Laguna Churup (4450 m) or Laguna 69 (4600 m)
-Excursion incl. short walk to Glacier Pastoruri
-thermal bath in nearby Monterrey

Day 4 - Day 7:  all incl. 4 day / 3 night trek:

-Santa Cruz Trek:

By far the most popular hike in the Cordillera Blanca, even non-hikers love this high altitude trekking experience. There is a long and slow approach to its highest point, the Punta Union Pass (4760 m), for many hikers a personal altitude record.
-Huayhuash Mini Trek:

A trek in the remote Huayhuash Mountain with stunning views reaching its highest point at Sambunya Pass      (4750 m) and descending to Jahuacocha Lake before reaching Llamac Village.


Day 8: Return to Lima

Trip with Santa Cruz trek(9 days total): 2 persons $600/person, 3 persons $550/person 4 persons $510/person


Trip with Huayhuash Mini Trek(9 days total): as Santa Cruz trek plus $70/person


To reserve this treks apart from the usual initial deposit ($150/group) an additional $150/person deposit needed to book the dates with the company organizing the multi-day treks.





Organized treks includes:

-ground transportation from Huaraz to trailhead and return
-accommodations in tents with sleeping bag during the trek
-pack animals
-local tour guide
-National Park entrance fee / local community fees
-all meals on trek



Indicated price per person includes:


-mid range accommodation in the center of Huaraz (double occupancy)

-all transport during holiday : best quality long distance buses between Lima-Huaraz-Lima,  all transport around Huaraz 

-entrance fee for Cordillera Blanca National Park /local community fee on Huayhuash Mini Trek..other occurring entrance fees and surcharges

-acclimatization trips

-cost of your tour leader 


Not included:

-meals, apart from the days on trek and breakfast where included in accommodation price


Additional side trips:

Instead of Huaraz-Lima return bus journey, an extended return trip to Lima via Trujillo (ruins of Chan-Chan and overnight stay in Huanchaco beach town) possible. Approx. 3 days.

From Trujillo you could also carry on your trip to Cajamarca - Chachapoyas for visiting Kuelap and Gocta Waterfalls.
