Terms and Conditions for Holidays / Multi-day trips

For terms and conditions regarding day excursions and walking tours in and around Lima read:



1. Booking & confirming your holiday 

To book a holiday first please use “Get in touch” section of this website or send an email to info@payasyougoholidayperu.com  to request your holiday plan. When you are happy with the result, you can reserve your holiday for the dates planned. The person dealing with the booking (“leader person”) must be authorized to make the booking by all persons in the group. By paying the deposit/making payment toward parts of your holiday services, the party leader accepts these terms and conditions on behalf all members of the party and confirms that he/she is authorized to do so by all other members of the party. The party leader is responsible for all payments due and must be at least 18 years old when the booking is made.

 A contract between us will come into existence when your deposit or initial payment is received (or proof of making the payment is forwarded). The confirmation email will be sent to the leader person acknowledging the acceptance of your booking. At the time of receiving the deposit an invoice confirming deposit payment will be issued and emailed to the leader person as well.

2. Paying for your holiday 

A deposit as specified in your quote, must be paid at the time of booking to reserve you requested dates. Certain arrangements require additional payments before your arrival. If this applies to your booking I shall advise you of this prior to booking. In this case I will request additional payment with certain deadlines to reserve these services. This applies mostly for domestic flights, Machu Picchu entrance fees and train tickets, long distance bus ticket for the first leg of your journey and reserving accommodation during high season or during special national or local events when services recommended to be reserved well in advance.

Initial deposit is typically $150 / group which is non-refundable and includes / covers costs of organizing your holiday. The same deposit will be deducted from the payment of your guide fee for the last 2 days of your trip in case the full contracted holiday period is completed. In case your holiday starts or ends in Peru at a location other than Lima  an additional payment of $100 will be requested before the start of your holiday to cover my travel cost to destination and one night accommodation before your group’s arrival.

 Deposit and any other initial payments can be made from abroad via international bank transfer using PayPal (via your PayPal account or if you don’t have one/don’t wish to sign up, using their secure payment interface with your credit or debit card). If you are already staying in Peru you have the additional option to pay by direct bank deposit or in some cases to make payment in person. At the time of planning your holiday full details of my bank account will be given in case you decide to use bank transfer.

 The contracted guide service fee will be settled during your holiday on an ongoing basis in payments made always for 2 day service-fee in advance. At the time of every payment a paper or electronic invoice will be issued that includes 18% IGV (VAT).

You will be responsible to pay directly for the ongoing costs/ services during the holiday apart from services already paid in advance. An estimated cost for every day will be provided during the trip. I will inform you well in advance if we travel to areas where money withdrawal can be difficult to ensure you will have sufficient fund for that part of the trip.  


3. Alterations by you

Should you wish to make any alterations to the dates of your confirmed holiday the party leader must notify in writing. Alterations is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed that the request will be met. If you wish to change the size of your group, the cost per person of your holiday may increase / decrease accordingly. 

Alterations for pre-paid contracted 3rd party providers are bound to their terms and conditions. For that reason in case of last minute changes you might lose your right for a refund or only part of the price paid for the service could be refunded.


 4. Cancellation:  

In case you have to cancel your holiday your initial deposit ($150)  will not be refunded and will be invoiced as cost for planning your trip. To cancel your holiday please inform me in writing in advance. In case travelers don't arrive to the agreed starting point of the trip on the first day of the contracted period and do not notify about difficulties / delays/ flight cancellations etc.. arising during the onward journey the booking will be handled as “No Show”. In case of No Show the contract between the two parties is treated as cancelled and terminated.

In case any refund is due from 3rd party services the cost of transferring the amount will be deducted from the refund.  

 5. Prices:

All prices on this website and the quote of your holiday plan is for guidance only. Typically costs are overestimated and currency exchange rate underestimated during the calculation of your holiday plan to give extra space for unexpected charges.

 6. Insurance:

It is a condition of booking that you are covered by adequate medical insurance. When obtaining travel insurance you must ensure that the insurer is aware of the type and destination of travel and any activities which you plan to undertake that may be considered high risk such as white water rafting, paragliding, mountain trekking and so on. Please ensure that you are fully covered and take the policy with you on your holiday. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular needs. 

7. Passports, visas, health documents & other documentation:

It is the traveler's responsibility to ensure that they are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, such as passports, visas, health certificates and other travel documents before departure. When visiting the Amazon basin / low jungle territory government bodies can request certificate of yellow fever vaccination.
If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your holiday, please tell me before. 

8. Force majeure:

I regret I cannot accept liability or pay any compensation in case you suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of “force majeure”. “Force majeure” means any event which could not foresee or avoid, such as political disputes, riots, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), border closures, industrial action, technical problems with machinery, transport or equipment, government intervention, natural disasters, fire or explosion, inclement weather and acts of God.

 9. Suppliers’ conditions:

Independent suppliers provide most accommodations, services and transportation. All bookings are subject to the third party conditions and regulations of these carriers/ transport proprietors/accommodation providers and service suppliers. These conditions may limit or exclude liability to you. Most suppliers are selected on personal experience to ensure adequate level of service.

 10. Our liability:

a) Please note I cannot accept responsibility for any services which do not form part of our contract.

 b) The type of travel, which I offer, requires flexibility and must allow for alternatives. The outline itinerary as given for each holiday must therefore be taken as an indication of what each trip may accomplish, and not as a contractual obligation. It is understood that the route schedules, itineraries, amenities and mode of transport may be subject to alteration without prior notice due to local circumstances or events. 

 11. Acceptance of risk (by you):

You acknowledge that the nature of travel is adventurous and that as such some holidays may involve a significant amount of inherent personal risk. These include injury, disease, loss or damage to property, inconvenience and discomfort. Some activities incidental to the holiday may carry inherent risks and if you wish to participate you may be requested to sign an additional waiver form by the local supplier. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit enough to participate, that you have adequate protective clothing and safety equipment and take sensible precautions for your own safety and for the safety of any children for whom you are responsible. 

Upon arrival your group will receive a basic mobile phone with a pre-paid local SIM card loaded with an initial deposit. It is your responsibility to return this phone at the end of your trip with the same balance you received.

 12. Overseas standards, expectations: 

Please note that standards of some services provided in Peru might not correspond to the European or USA standards. 

 13. Law and jurisdiction:

 This agreement is governed by the laws of Peru. For all matters not covered in this agreement, Peruvian laws are applied on a supplementary basis. Similarly, any controversy, dispute or claim arising during the performance hereof falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Judicial District of Lima, Peru. 

 14. Personal information and privacy:

I will not pass your personal information and that of your party to any third parties, except of where it is necessary in the course of providing the holiday services you have booked or requested by local authorities.
